New ArtPrize Collaborators, What Happened to Little Dancer? Sculptures in the News, Art in the Park Apply!

The glow of one warm thought is to me worth more than money." - Thomas Jefferson

Hello Artists and Art Lovers,

The New ArtPrize Collaborators are at Work!

We have 8 artists who are excited about collaborating on a big ArtPrize project. A Facebook Group has been created for all of our followers. Please join us to keep up to date and let us know what you think.

There's lots happening in the world of sculpture lately.

I told you about the desecration of Little Dancer a while ago and just recently the perpetrators were sentenced. Here's a wrap up of what happened

Another Sculpture in the News is the new 12 foot tall bronze sculpture temporarily displayed in Times Square by British artist Thomas J. Price.

It is part of a series titled Grounded in the Stars. According to the Times Square official website, "Through scale, materiality, and posture, Grounded in the Stars disrupts traditional ideas around what defines a triumphant figure and challenges who should be rendered immortal through monumentalization."

There was much talk on social media both positive and negative about the sculpture and I will leave the criticism alone. As a sculpture artist myself, I think the artist does impeccable work and I appreciate his vision. You can find out more HERE.

There are Still a couple of open spots for Art in the Park Saugatuck scheduled for September 13, 2025. Informational newsletters will start soon for all participants.

Thanks for reading and especially for your kind words about my nephew, Solomon, that I shared on Monday. I appreciate you and hope you are enjoying hearing the updates and art news that I share.
